Anton de Wet

Anton fell in love with birds when he was 6 years old when his dad built him a large aviary in their back yard. Growing up on and near game parks for most of his childhood, he was privileged to spend many hours at a time in the bush observing his favorite animals - BIRDS. This has helped him to understand their amazing anatomy but has also over time developed within him a deep appreciation for our loving Creator and his marvelous works (Rom 1:20).

For most of his life he has kept all kinds of birds in cages and aviaries, but now he captures their amazing beauty with paint and a brush. Recently, at the age of 40, he started oil painting for the first time. He was naturally drawn to Realism as it portrays the finer details of birds that we rarely get to see up close. He donates 15% of all his proceeds to BirdLife South Africa, in support of bird conservation.
