Frances Jacobs

Art and design in all its forms surely must be the highest form of the mind and psyche of human life on earth. This firm belief has guided her life, says Frances. After school she studied and lectured literature and her doctoral thesis researched ‘caricature’ in satirical texts. She followed a varied career path which encompassed editorial work and financial planning but the love for the arts and travel, mainly to explore visual art, remained. Over time she had the urge to be creative herself and with the mentoring and guidance of Neil Moss in Pretoria and Cathy Miller of The Stables Art Studio in the Winelands, painting and sketching is now a reality. She explores various themes in landscapes, collages and still life studies, mainly in oil, graphite and charcoal. The beautiful backdrop of Paarl in the Western Cape where she currently resides nurtures her creative spirit.
